TRANSPORTATION FOR LOGOS STUDENTS IN THE ELK
ISLAND SCHOOL DISTRICT
Logos students are
eligible for transportation to a Logos
Program school if they reside 2.4 kilometers
(1.5 miles) or more from the school they
have been designated to attend. This
means that the distance to their designated
school (not the Logos school) is the
determining factor as to whether a student
will be eligible for transportation.
Transportation must be
feasible and cost effective. It must be
feasible in that there must be an existing
bus route to accommodate the transportation.
Logos parents can also
access the pay-ride option. Pay ride is
available to students who reside less than
2.4 km but more than 1.0 km from their
designated school. The two-tier pay schedule
is based on the distance from the designated
school.
F.A.Q.'s
1.How do parents know
the distance from their designated school? If
parents are unsure of the distance their
residence is from their designated school,
they may call Student Transportation at
(780) 417-8151.
2.How does EIPS
know for sure that a parent wants
transportation?
On the boundary exemption form, there is a
box to check to indicate a request for
student transportation and to indicate any
changes in needs.
3. How is transportation notified
of requests? Information on student
programs and transportation needs is
transferred automatically to Student
Transportation through the EIPS SIS system.
4.
Who do I contact if I have a transportation
question? Information about
transportation is available from EIPS
schools or by calling EIPS Student
Transportation at (780) 417-8151. |
